It is presented in this dissertation a wind energy capture system overview. The addressed concept uses wind turbines with blade pitch control and doubly fed induction generators. Their dynamic behavior and control systems are represented through dynamic models suitable for application in power systems transient stability analysis. A set of performance criteria is proposed for each subsystem along with the controler design in order to satisfy them. At last the system dynamic performance is evaluated through computer simulations.
