This work shows studies for the development of a fluxgate magnetometer using digital signal processing. Initially specific characteristics of the geomagnetic instrumentation are presented, addressed for researches on geomagnetism and mainly for magnetic observatories. A revision on the theory of fluxgate magnetometers is discussed, taking as reference the analogical control electronics, comparing it with the digital one. In the last part of this monography is described the main hardware and software proceedings involved in the results of these simulations, using the commercial selected DSP kit.
