Three PWM (Pulse Width Modutation) methods largely employed in industrials converters are compared: sinusoidal PWM, sinusoidal with third harmonic PWM and space vector modulation. Matematical models are created to simulate these PWM techniques. In addtion, a laboratory prototype has been implemented with a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to operated these methods.
With the results obtained from the prototype operation, and simulation, a comparative analysis of the harmonic behavior of the switching techniques has been done.
